PLN VERONA
Homage to Pier Luigi Nervi
Produced by EXPOSITORE - Curated by Dario Biello
Pier Luigi Nervi was one of protagonists of structural architecture on the twentieth century international scene; his projects contributed to the revival of Italy after the war and helped spread the image of a modern and competitive Italy. His work is still very current and certainly a source of inspiration for younger generations.
Verona boasts two of his creations: the Risorgimento Bridge and the Civic Library. Nervi also took part in the competition organised by the Ministry of the Treasury for a building complex to be used as state offices to be built between Via Shakespeare, Via Luigi da Porto and the Visconti city walls.
In homage to his figure and his works in Verona itself, Abitare il Tempo and Veronafiere have decided to organise a celebratory exhibition in Palaexpo during the main show event.
PNL Verona, produced by ESPOSITORE and curated by Dario Biello, will develop along an interactive, original and dynamic path accompanying visitors towards the discovery of this great engineer and his works in Verona.
Starting with the chronology and the main works, the event will then focus on the three projects in Verona through three specific and dedicated sections. Each section will be animated by video-installations, 3D prints and tablets with interactive content used in combination the works to share information and curiosities. The last part of the path will be dedicated to credits and the partners of the exhibition.
