116th Fieracavalli Verona: travelling in the saddle
28.08.2014
Fieracavalli 2014: Thursday 6 - Sunday 9 November
Fieracavalli has spotlighted the equestrian world for over a century, attracting more than 158,000 visitors to Verona to relive - in just four days - the most noble and ancient traditions linked with horses, while at the same time also discovering more innovative aspects: from horse therapy to equestrian tourism. This aspect is precisely the focal point of the next edition of the event in Verona, where Hall 4 will be dedicated to enthusiasts and the merely curious alike to discover, riding the animal that has always accompanied mankind, the beauties of Italy itself and other countries.
Verona, 31 July 2014 - Fieracavalli, every year, brings together in Verona more than 3,000, 35 horse breeding associations, 650 exhibitors and more than 180 events including competitions, shows and performances – to promote every aspect of the equestrian world. The 116th edition will focus entirely on the natural affinity bonding mankind, horses and local areas to help enthusiasts and the curious discover the beauties of every place, together with typical produce, while riding horses.
Hall 4, developed in collaboration with the E.A.R.T.H. Academy, is the main meeting place for discovering the best national and international equestrian tourism proposals, welcoming all the facilities (hotels, riding stables, farm holiday centres and horse routes) needed to create a system, stimulate debate and offer a network of dedicated services for horse riding and those keen to live this experience for the first time. Not only the main Italian regions with their typical produce and the finest horse routes in Italy but even countries outside Europe – such as Oman – where horses are considered companions in adventures discovering landscapes, usually far from the eyes of tourists crowding the resorts.
Sport, the undisputed star of the last edition, is once again in the forefront of the Veronese event, especially thanks to Jumping Verona, the only Italian stage of Longines FEI World CupTM that has attracted the big names in international show jumping to Verona for over 13 years. Yet not only the top names competing for the World Cup, but room for the riders of tomorrow with the Youth Project competitions, the 27th National Pony Championships (Hall 5) and the 39th edition of the Under-21 Regions Cup that this year is scheduled in the same arena at the Longines FEI World CupTM itself (Hall 8).
Pure adrenaline for the Speed Events held as part of the WesternShow (Halls 11 and 12): 20,000 square metres of amenities home to spectacular competitions including Team Penning, Barrel Racing, Pole Bending and the Western Gymkhana - as well as the European Western Pony Championships coordinated by the WSGA (Western Speed Game Association Pony).
Morphology is still one of the top disciplines at the event in Verona, where many international competitions are scheduled - such as the European Morphology Championships and the IV Fieracavalli Grand Prix - for top champions representing Arabian, Spanish, Criollo, Friesian, Paint, Quarter and Appaloosa breeds.
The commercial areas of the event are themselves one of the main attractions not only specialist visitors but also for people looking for the most innovative trends and the latest products. This huge international showcase brings together the most important brands of the sector to offer visitors the chance to purchase clothing, equitation articles, technical equipment, veterinary items and accessories for riding schools and stables over the four days of the event.
Entertainment for the whole family, lastly, also starts off with the Children's Village (Hall 1), with shows, tours and demonstrations to help children approach and interact with horses. Performances by the artists of Talenti&Cavalli - the Fieracavalli talent show now at its fourth edition – and the folk lore verve of the Western Saloon are perfect companions for the whole family; and, once the sun sets, the curtain rises on "Visions" - the 2014 Gold Gala directed by Antonio Giarola – and Fieracavalli Nights with events, line dance competitions and country dancing.
The appointment is in Verona Thursday 6-Sunday 9 November 2014 www.fieracavalli.it
