SIGEP hosts the World Coffee Roasting Championship

More and more attention is reserved to the coffee beans. For the first time SIGEP will host the World Coffee Roasting Championship, a world touring competition that rewards excellence in coffee roasting.
Over twenty countries are already scheduled to take part in the event at Sigep 2019 (Australia, Brazil, China, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland , Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom and USA). The appointment is officially included in the calendar of the World Coffee Event Circuitthat after the competition in Holland, South Africa and China, is scheduled to take place in Brazil at the beginning of November.
An area of Pavilion D3 will be dedicated to the World Coffee Roasting Championship with competitions taking place from Sunday, January 20th to Wednesday, January 23rd. Competitors will be ranked according to their performance by evaluating the quality of green coffee (coffee classification), by judging the development of a toasting profile that best accentuates the desirable characteristics of that coffee, and by the last cup of roasted coffee.
