Camp sites and holiday villages get social and reactive
17.07.2018
Outdoor holidays are particularly popular among Germans, with a satisfaction rate of 80%, and in 57% of cases, are chosen by families: the snapshot of Italian camp sites and holiday villages taken by the first Survey on Open-Air Tourism.
Organised by Human Company and Travel Appeal, the Survey offers a complete analysis of the socio-economic aspects and trends in outdoor tourism, analysing the digital presence of the offer in Italy and the value of supply and demand.
In 2017, the 2,144 structures present in Italy learned to be social, responding quickly to visitor reviews and engaging with increasingly connected customers. Review numbers in fact increased by 23%.
22% of tourists to campsites and holiday villages come from Germany, followed by the Netherlands, France and Switzerland. The most popular areas are Veneto, Lombardy and Tuscany, but Le Marche was the most reactive on social networks.
"The segment is registering sharp growth not only in North Europe, but also in Italy", confirmed Marco Galletti, CEO of Human Company. “Holiday villages and camp sites must capitalise on this trend, and increase their appeal through digital technology” added Mirko Lalli, founder of Travel Appeal.
