Updated “Star of Chocolate” ranking

Rimini, 29 February 2016 - Sicilian Tommaso Molara is the winner of the international “The Star of Chocolate” contest, held at SIGEP 2016.
A re-examination of the voting cards revealed a technical error in the calculations, which therefore changed the competition’s final ranking, immediately rectified as follows:
1st Place - Tommaso Molara
2nd Place - Lorenzo Puca
3rd Place – Gerald Baltram
The final ranking announced during SIGEP (1st Lorenzo Puca, 2nd Jerome Martinaud, 3rd Tommaso Molara) is now definitively updated, with France’s Martinaud leaving third place to Austria’s Baltram.
Master chocolatiers took part in The Star of Chocolate from Japan, Brazil, India, Italy, Austria and France and competed on a Jazz music theme, on which they inspired their works realizing an innovative chocolate éclair, a single portion of dessert, an artistic sculpture and their interpretation of drinking chocolate, served with two different petit fours.
SIGEP, ensuring the utmost transparency, apologizes for the involuntary technical error in the calculations.
