Veronafiere event postponed to avoid concurrence with the closing ceremony of the Winter Olympics, scheduled to take place in Verona on 22 February 2026 

Progetto Fuoco changes date for the Olympics. The 15th edition of the Veronafiere international exhibition dedicated to wood biomass heating will be held from 25 to 28 February 2026. The shift of one week on the calendar was necessary due to the concurrence in Verona of the closing ceremony of the Winter Olympics, scheduled for 22 February 2026. 

For the occasion, an extraordinary influx of people is expected in the city, with hundreds of sports delegations, athletes, authorities and thousands of spectators. In the three days leading up to the event, special security measures imposed by the Olympic Committee will also be in force. This is why Veronafiere, as organiser of Progetto Fuoco and in agreement with the city administration, has decided to reposition the event from the previously announced date (18-21 February). 

«Although we consider it a great privilege for our city to host this event of the Olympic program – explains Adolfo Rebughini, general director of Veronafiere – we consider it our duty as exhibition organisers to ensure the best possible context for the next edition of Progetto Fuoco. This means guaranteeing exhibitors and operators an optimal experience, avoiding any possible criticality related to traffic, logistics, facilities and services». 

The next step in the run-up to Progetto Fuoco 2026 is the appointment with the National Wood Energy Forum: Policies, Incentives, Actions for the Future of Renewable Thermal Energy, scheduled on Friday 28 March 2025 at Veronafiere.
