The new Energy and Climate Plan released in Italy in January 2019 has set a 55,5% target of electric demand to be covered by renewable sources by 2030: this will lead to 187 TWh of renewable electricity in 2030

3. ENERGY EFFICIENCY
In 2017 in Italy, investments in the field of energy efficiency reached 6,7 billion €. The total revenues of energy service companies increased and reached 3,4 billion €.

In 2019 the Italian Government has introduced incentives up to € 6.000 for purchases of electric and hybrid cars. Considerable efforts have also been made for the creation of charging infrastructures.
